 Shamatha-Calm Abiding

Shamatha mediation is from the lineage of Shambhala buddhism and has been referred to as the warrior practice. Mindfulness is about placing the mind; mindfulness meditation is about consciously placing the mind.

The benefits of a Shamatha practice are:

Stability: abiding presence-steadfast, confidence and equanimity.

Clarity: awake with what is and being with things as they are.

Strength: training the self to come back to the present moment.
